Free Patterns

As I find patterns that I like, I will post them here. These patterns are my own creation, but you have my permission to use them.

One Pinwheel Railfence

Here’s a link to the PDF for this block. It includes a diagram of the block and measurements for rotary cutting.

The block is 8″ x 8″ and can be easily converted to other sizes.

I’ve had many requests for the full pattern for this quilt. You can download a PDF right here.

This block differs in that it has a pinwheel in two corners of the railfence, rather than just one.

I like this version better, but I would eliminate the partial pinwheels along the edges by making some of the blocks without the second half-square triangle (HST). You would need to pay careful attention to the color placement if you chose to do this. If you were making a scrappy version that would not be an issue.

I have another idea that would go with leaving the half pinwheels in, but I’ll blog about that more later.

Enjoy

  1. Love these patterns. The rail fence pieces (if done in the same pattern/color) look like a woven basket. Thank you for the PDFs. Yolanda Wood River

    1. Hi Connie! I’m not sure what happened, but I just tried to download the PDFs and they are working. Still, I’d be happy to send them to you by email if it’s still not working for you. Just leave your email address in reply. Thanks again!
