I was a sewing machine this weekend…

easy_street_3I think that came out wrong. I wasn’t an actual sewing machine. I did get a lot of sewing done.

I’m completely caught up on Bonnie Hunter’s Easy Street mystery quilt, including Step 3 which she posted on Friday.

I’ve chosen all the colors for my quilt except for the third bright. I know it will be a bright; I just haven’t decided which one to go with. It has to be something from my stash, but believe me, that doesn’t limit me much!

I’m also working on a Stash Buster quilt from The Door Mouse. I’m really enjoying this block of the month because it is pre-cut and it has a lot of variety that I could not achieve in a scrappy quilt, at least not yet. The stash we are busting is theirs, not mine, and it includes fabrics that I probably wouldn’t have purchased. It’s been a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to seeing it come together.

I’d love to see what you’re working on; feel free to post the name of your quilting blog below, and I’ll check the “linkys” at Bonnie’s site later today.

Enjoy!

  1. I’m loving your different brights! I’m not using the same colors as Bonnie either. I have to admit that the “rogue” color schemes are my favorite to keep up with.

I, too, played with possiblities of layouts on my blog post this week. I’m JoAnne–the Patriotic Quilter. My linky is up.

Have a great day! I can’t wait until Friday!

  2. I too am a rogue…my Mom used to say “why do you bother playing with others if you’re always gonna take your own toys and play YOUR games?” For company, I guess LOL
I love your colors, they’re bright which isn’t generally my taste, but I guess it’s because I never put them together right. These really work–you did na excellent job!

  3. I love your colors. All these brights are definitely outside my comfort zone, but it’s fun to see how they all come together. I’m saving the clues as I don’t know when I’ll have time to make this quilt (I’m desperately trying to finish the hand quilting of an I-Spy quilt for my grands for Christmas – then I have a wall quilt that’s half-way pieced that I’d like to get finished, and then I have a king-sized quilt that my daughter has asked me to make … I hand quilt exclusively so it will be a good long while before I can get to Easy Street, but get to it I will! ha!).

  4. I’ve enjoyed how so many of the mysterites had assembled blocks this week, all of then pretty!

  5. Your colors are great…. I like your block mock up … striking. I am having so much fun with this mystery and look forward to assembling the blocks into a top. I am thinking I will quilt it myself.
